The "If this never happens to me again it will be too soon" moment of the day. 10:00 AM. I wake up to a phone ringing. I don't have a phone in my room, my parents' is dead, so I fly down the steps to answer it. The convo:
Girl: Hello is..umm...Eric there?
E: Yeah, this is Eric.
Girl: Hi Eric, how are you this morning?
E: Good.
Girl: My name is Michelle from the Marine Corps. What are your...ummm...future plans? Are..ummm...you going to college?
E: Yeah, a 4 year college.
Girl: Oh...(literally a 5 second silence)...I see. Ummm....where are you going to school?
E: Ball State.
Girl: Oh. Well...ummmm....uhh...good luck I guess. We're going to...ummm...call you back later in the year and see how you're doing OK?
E: Great.

Note to the armed services: If you want to get people to join your organization, get recruiters that can, gee I don't know, speak the English language without saying umm every other word. Of course I never fell back asleep. Stupid government.
Fun day of going in and out today. I went to Giant Eagle to drop off the pics for The Night of the Punching Ball. I picked up the sheet for one hour developing, and the lady came up behind me and asks, "When do you want these done by?" I said, "Uhhh...an hour?" See, I was under the impression that 1 hour developing implied that they can develop pics in one hour. I guess that wasn't the case since she just glared at me. "Um, how about 2:00?" I said. "That's better," she replied. So to kill time Leah and I went to Max and Erma's for lunch. We're happily enjoying our drinks when a 70-75 year old man (who was with his wife) leans over to me and goes, "Oh, did Kenston have school off today?" Granted, I had my Kenston Baseball sweatshirt on, but that now makes for 4 times in 5 days I've been mistaken for a high schooler. Although, that wasn't as bad as when the waiter brought back my Visa which a) I had given to him and 2) clearly has Eric J. Maroun written on it, and looks right at Leah saying "Is this yours or his?" Idiot. Tip was not good for that tool.
So I went, got the pics, and laughed. Hard. These have to be the greatest set of pics ever taken. Leah, Lisa, and especially Ryan's faces are so classic. Leah said that she would come and pick them up. She didn't. I now hate her. Not really. I'll see her today.
Went to Pipers III restaurant on the West Side for my grandma's 80th b-day. I do believe that the average age of everyone in the place was about 75 years old...and that's including my cousin's 9 month old baby. But nothing prepared me for what I witnessed as we were leaving. Somehow I failed to notice the bar area of the place when we walked in. 2 things I noticed. a) Watching old people dance like the fox trot or waltz or something is kind of awkward. It's just...weird. I don't know. You had to be there. I can't really explain it. II) Is there a sadder sight than seeing old people sitting at the bar, drinking, and hitting on other old people? No. The answer is no. Oh well, the food was pretty good, and that's all I care about.
Came home, went to Michelle's, watched a movie, good times. Came home and went to bed because I was tired. Going to the girls' b-ball game today. Should be a good one. Peace in the Middle East yo. I'm out.
