I see you did not visited Pavlovsk
http://www.pavlovskmuseum.ru/
and Oranienbaum-Lomonosov
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9E%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B1%D0%B0%D1%83%D0%BC_(%D0%B4%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%80%D1%86%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE-%D0%BF%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B2%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BC%D0%B1%D0%BB%D1%8C)

But i think they are the best seen in summer or late spring - not in two weeks for sure.

Also trips to Valaam and Kizhi are very nice.

If you lack of time there is a trip to Valaam only in 1 day\2 nights

or 1 day by Meteor.

Gatchina park and palace are definitely worth visiting too.

Gatchina seems to be a place far enough away, where I need to plan the trip in advance. I'll also keep this place in mind. But I am really overwhelmed by the huge amounts of parks, churches, temples, cathedrals, palaces and royal residences that exist in Leningrad Oblast... There are so many, and they are all so grand and beautiful, I am really amazed by it.

I'll definitely be going back there in the summer or spring again, so I might save these trips for the warmer months. But they both look beautiful, and in fact I hadn't even heard of these places until now, thank you very much for sharing them! I'll keep them in mind!

As for Valaam and Kizhi, they both look awesome in the photos! Kizhi kind of reminds me of a Norwegian stave church (wooden architecture with decorations), but with Russian cupolas/domes (купол)... Valaam looks gorgeous, although I am not sure if I will have the time to visit them now in February, but I will try. If not, I will visit them in the warmer months, with Pavlovsk and Oranienbaum-Lomonosov.

Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it very much:) I absolutely love Russian architecture!!!

The Pavlovsk park may be visited in winter as well, people ski there and ride on kicksleds (spark in Norwegian, финские сани in Russian). The same recreations (and a skating rink as well) are available in the Yelagin Island park. But you will have to wait till it gets colder, now there is a thaw and the ice and show have all molten away.

Great idea! :) It's probably best to visit most things in both seasons, both ways have its own charm, I'm sure. :)
