Had a great weekend. In retrospect it all seemed scarily 'normal'. The years we've been apart didn't seem to affect familiarity or having an easygoing time. (For those who can't be arsed to look at my last entry - I spent the w/e with mates from my uni days - from about 2 to 3 years ago.) Sam was a little quiet/uneasy at first in a rather awkward social situation for her but with the aid of alcohol she loosened up and enjoyed herself.
Chris, Tom and Gabs have been the closest of friends to me. Tom has always been around in Bristol.. and it's sheerly through joint apathy that we've spent this long without seeing each other. Gabs and Chris however moved away but are both thinking of returning to Bristol to work.. that'd be great
Incidently.. the Mexican was pretty nice too, especially the DIY fajitas.. I must explore Mexican food a bit more. We kinda had an idea for the next meet... a Medieval Banquet :P Of course none of us has the foggiest how we go about finding a castle and someone willing to roast a hog... but we're not the kind of people to be put off by practicalities :)
Wondering about the post title? Our favorite tipple used to be 'Badger' ale. I was dismayed to learn our old Badger drinking haunt 'The Pennyfarthing' pub no longer served it.. but astonishingly it's available in Sainsbury's... canned... freaky.
Anyhow the net result of the weekend is that we all have each others phone numbers and some real impetus into seeing each other more often. O and I'm
