So this last weekend Adrienne, Jeremy and I went down to Oakland for Eeyore and Coicoi's wedding. We got lost and did some back tracking as is becoming a trend when I travel, but surprisingly we still made really good time.
The wedding was amazing. It was a circus wedding, so naturally the entire circus was there. They even did a parade from the area of the reception to the area of the ceremony... complete with costumes, make up, music and juggling. The ceremony was beautiful... and both Eeyore and Coicoi teared up, it was soooo sweet. Afterwards we all went back to a warehouse for the reception and some awesome food. I can honestly say that this wedding was not only the most convincing wedding I've ever been to, but the most fun.
I also got to see all of my warehouse friends who were all awesome like for letting me stay with them... and I learned the joys of Rock Band and Guitar Hero and am sadly going through withdrawals now that I am home.
A special thanx to Tati for directions that had we followed correctly we would have made it home without a hitch...
story time:
So I still don't consider myself to be a bad driver, but man I came close on the way home from Oakland. We managed to make it to the 580, but got stuck on 80 W and started heading across the bridge... Will pointed out what was supposed to be the last Oakland exit before the bridge, so I "safely" (seriously there weren't any cars in the lanes randomly enough) cut across four lanes to take the exit, which happened to be a car pool lane for buses only. Once we figured this out we tried to cut through the coned divider to get back in with regular traffic, but the cars were coming in so fast we figured it would be safer to just keep going and deal with whatever repercussions came our way (honestly at that point I would have killed for a cop to pull me over)... so we bypassed the toll boothes and crossed the bridge, where we managed to get off on the next exit, find the correct on ramp (through a series of one ways) to go back in the opposite direction, and managed to get back onto 580. From there it was smooth sailing (yes I did just say that)... So the moral of the story is... I'm an idiot... but at least we made it home safely.
Also, a special thanx to Tati and Tom for abetting my addiction to Supernatural and its amazing soundtrack. You guys make me happy inside.
Well off to do all that homework I conveniently forgot about while I was in Oakland...
Much love...
