So I took a practice GRE yesterday. If I did all my calculations right* , I got a 700 on the verbal and a 540 on the math. I'm super happy about the verbal score, obviously. The math score is perfectly average which, to be honest, I'm not all that fussed over. However, I'm also not entirely sure I scored it properly. It was kind of complicated and the score out of 800 doesn't really seem to have anything to do with how well you ACTUALLY did.
[*Also, I kind of had to make up those calculations, because the book decided you don't need to KNOW how well you did. So I found a table online that converts your raw score into your out-of-800 score, only it was a kind of old table which scored the OLD GRE and doesn't have the computer adaptive testing that changes difficulty depending on how well you do.
So in order to calculate my raw score, I compared not the number right to the total number, but my level compared to the maximum level. (level X # correct of each level, added up, divided by the total number of questions, divided by the maximum possible level). ]
Only a few more days to worry about this crap. Ah hate it.
I would also like to report that, worried for my eating habits this week (which has been spent almost entirely either working or studying), Ben took it upon himself to cook me an easily reheatable dinner which will probably last me through Tuesday.
