Taiwan - 24 March 2010 (Day 4 - Part 1)

Aug 04, 2010 13:29

This post is gonna be a half day post about Taichung, further south of Taipei, an hour's High Speed Rail train ride from Taipei HSR station! It's an awesome place, really. Seriously, our lunch was at this nice themed restaurant and it's really... awesome to the max, cuz you don't see this kind of stuff in singapore. I wonder if I have the time to get until that part for today. Anyway all pics from SQ and my cam/iphone, cuz debra didn't bring her camera that day, and I'm too lazy to copy paste photos from fb (minwei's cam) =.=

Price of our HSR ticket: NT595 (with seating; bought at the counter); that's about.. 30SGD?

I kept the ticket :)

How the inside of the HSR train looks like; not bad leh. It's my first time on any bullet/HSR train.

SQ act funny sia!

choobs and ME.

From SQ's cam;

From SQ's cam; MW and SQ!!

During the train ride, saw alot of padi fields;

We reached Taichung already!! Yep our train.. cool HSR train!

Why did we sit down?? (Mw, me and dbc)

DBC!

By SQ; we took the HSR bus to Taichung city where the toilet restaurant is; I saw like 2 starbucks?

by SQ of Me; trying to check out where we are using the HSR bus stop map. Listening to my ipod since we were told that the ride would be like... 45mins?

by SQ; we were walking to the toilet place after checking out some directions from this shoe shop.

FINALLY, WE REACHED THIS TOILET RESTAURANT, WE ACTUALLY WENT TO CHECK OUT THE ADDRESS THE NIGHT BEFORE USING THE POKPOK COMPUTER IN THE HOTEL. HAHA. It's at a rather obscure place, meaning, there's a sign, but it's easy to miss it. Thankfully, we had SQ's eyes, she was the one who spotted it. It's located on the second storey of those shops.. yeah pretty much like shop houses.(PS, there's one in Taipei also, quite near where we stay but we didn't go; there's one in HK too)

PRESENTING... THE MODERN TOILET RESTAURANT!!

Cool stuff right, you sit on the toilet bowl for a different purpose.

by SQ; checking out the menu.

taken by DBC using my camera; look at my sians face, I was helping dbc to fold her woollen sweater.

Sians face while waiting for food, we were totally starving!! We didn't eat breakfast also!! Cuz we woke up too late and we all chiong-ed to take the HSR.. but it's quite frequent.

Anyway, this is how the table looks like, there's this glass cover, it's actually a basin. Those cards inside are comments
written by people who patronised before.

Finally, food came, SQ and I ordered the same thing; Japanese curry chicken.

How cute, they actually served it using a toilet bowl, it may look big, but it's actually prolly about 4cm deep. At first I also thought it's alot, how to finish sia. Then I use my chopsticks to dip in. Btw, this is actually sq's one. Mine's the blue one.

MINE!! The bowl w the lid is actually the miso soup.

DBC's jap noodles?? Haha. It doesn't look very nice, and dbc admit that it wasn't very nice either.

Minwei's baked rice, taken by SQ.

Our food!

Happy people with our food! From SQ's cam.. I think dbc take one.

From sq's cam, by dbc.

By SQ;

Then there's dessert.. ice cream! Can't choose the flavour cuz it's a set meal, or my set meal of jap curry chicken costs NT190 I think. That's SGD10. It's cheap I guess, considering the ambience and everything. Ok, take a look at the ice cream; everything there is totally related to toilet la.

Haha, debra found the ice cream disgusting, not the looks but the taste. She's rather discerning when it comes to stuff like food. I'm ok w the ice cream, too hungry.

In the end, dbc's ice cream really look like 'shit'

Then we went to check out the real toilet in the toilet restaurant, guess it isn't much diff, except that you wash your hands in toilet bowls. LOL.

Since it was lunch time, there wasn't much people and I went to check out the other side of the restaurant w nobody. Check out this longer 'table' bathtub.

By SQ; she wanted to show that my shoes glow as well as the background =.=

This is the entrance, really. (photo by SQ)
