Looking for Miranda or Melou

As usual, Lucivar is pacing through the Mansion, frowning a little, and searching intently. For who else but Miranda. Because whether it's just Jaenelle being calmer, or meeting some new and marginally interesting people, or trying to teach Anita how to use an Eyrien stick, he's in a good mood, and finally ready to see her again without snarling

Miranda is in her room, should he come looking there. She's kneeling on the floor, a book written in Italian opened on the floor in front of her. The door is open.

Lucivar does, and knocks on the door frame. "Miranda?"

"Ay?" she says, not looking up.

[eyrienprince]

"May I come in? It's...me. Lucivar."

[topofadmiration]

She pauses a long moment, her finger holding her place on the line, but not raising her eyes from the page. "Ay, sir," she says at last.

He takes a step in but stays by the doorway, watching her tensely. "What are you reading?"

"History, sir. It is a book my father had."

[eyrienprince]

"Lucivar," he corrects her in a quiet, almost subdued voice. "Miranda...I wanted to apologize. For my behavior when I last saw you." A pause. "I fear that you may have thought I was angry with you."

"'tis well, sir. My father, too, was angered."

[eyrienprince]

Lucivar's eyes flash abruptly. "At you?"

[topofadmiration]

"I do not know."

[eyrienprince]

Lucivar sighs, and shakes his head, making a face. "It doesn't matter." With an effort. "I'm sorry for reacting as I did. I shouldn't have." A pause. "Can you forgive me?"

"Ay, sir."

[eyrienprince]

He almost breathes a sigh of relief and comes further in, sitting down on the floor.

"And you, Miranda. You've been well, I hope?"

[topofadmiration]

"Yes, sir," she says, closing the book and scooting to face him.

[eyrienprince]

"Lucivar?" He says, and it's almost a question, watching her closely and seriously.
