I typed this post, about my vacay, WEEKS ago, and my computer ate it. I pop into LJ to post my annual Turkey Story post - and like magic my lost post was recovered! CRAY-ZEE! So I'm posting this sucker while the posting is good! :D
My epic 2012 trip was EPIC!! Had so much fun, saw so much stuff, did so many things!! Here's a breakdown of sorts. :)
Day 1 Fairfax, VA
Arrived in Washington DC with my dear friend K. Her nephew, B, picked us up.
We all had dinner at Skipperdo's
Stayed at K & C's apartment.
Day 2 NYC
B drove K & I to NYC, checked into Flatotel.
Walked around Times Square. So cool!
Had a late lunch/early dinner at Junior's (we all shared an AMAZING piece of red velvet cheesecake for dessert OMG)
Rode the subway. Got lost in the subway. We were so over the subway by the time we got out. LOL
Visited the 9/11 Memorial (So incredibly beautiful & moving. I'll never forget it.)
Day 3 NYC
Walked around Central Park (gorgeous!)
Had the best cheese pizza ever! for lunch at Little Italy's
Visited the Empire State Building and walked around the observation deck (OMG!! Awesome!!)
B drove K & I to New Jersey. Rode Cape May-Lewes Ferry to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (LOVED the ferry ride, about 1 hour long)
Arrived at Rehoboth Beach, checked into the Atlantic Sands
Had dinner at the Greene Turtle, right on the boardwalk.
Took a night walk on the beach. (lovely!)
Day 4 Rehoboth Beach
Walked the boardwalk, and the beach.
Shopped Main St.
Shopped the outlet stores (Coach, HELLO!)
B, K, & I Drove back to Fairfax, Va.
Day 5 Washington D.C.
Rode the DC metro to the Smithsonian
Had lunch at the Fossil Cafe
B had to go out of town for work
K & I spent the entire day at the Museum of Natural History (I LOVED IT!)
Rode the DC metro back to the apartment
C treated us to a wonderful dinner at Gordon Biersch (I had the NY strip, it was awesome!)
Day 6 Washington D.C.
Rode the DC metro to the Smithsonian
Visited the Museum of American History (Saw THE Star Spangled Banner, OMG! Totally gave me goose bumps!)
B got back home, met up with K & I, and we all had lunch at the Stars & Stripes Cafe
Spent a few more hours at the Museum of American History. (Saw Dorothy's Ruby Slippers from the Wizard of Oz!!)
Didn't see everything though, there was too much!! C met up w/us.
We all went for dinner to Captain Pell's Crabhouse. (I had snowcrab legs. SO GOOD!)
Day 7 Homeward Bound
B dropped K & I off at the Ronald Reagan National Airport
Flew to Charlotte, NC for a short layover
K & I flew home, exhausted but happy!
My darling hubby picked us up at the airport. I missed him! <3
