Chapter 3 ☆ [Voice]

Dec 20, 2011 21:09

[Following the draftees' return to the village yesterday evening, Joshua... hasn't actually been around that much. He hadn't been dropped off at his own apartment when he returned; rather, Joshua ended up at the clinic together with Leonhardt. Which is just as well, really, considering the latter's still in bad shape and likely best off remaining at the clinic until his condition improves a bit more.

Since then, the boy hasn't left the clinic much - only when it was absolutely necessary, say, in order to pick up something to eat from the stores. He hasn't even been back to his own apartment yet. That can wait until the situation improves a bit.

But between not leaving much, him generally being tired from the draft and the general situation, it's starting to get alarmingly difficult to keep his mind from wandering to certain events that occurred in his world ten years ago, something that really isn't helping with the fact he's been having trouble getting much rest at all since the last day of the draft.

And so, toward the evening, he'll eventually open up his journal to leave a simple question.]

... What do all of you do to take your mind off of something? [His voice is detached and a lot flatter than usual, sounding rather tired - he doesn't really have the energy for his normal friendlier attitude right now, but this is still something he feels he ought to ask about.

With that question done with, he'll close his journal again, but before the feed fully cuts out, it still manages to catch a small sigh followed by a quietly muttered sentence.]

This isn't really how I was expecting to spend my birthday this year...

thanks a lot third party, !leonhardt, *voice, question for the masses, happy birthday...?
