[It's been about two days since Joshua's rather... awkward arrival. Since then, he's been busy familiarizing himself with Luceti and getting settled in, keeping an eye out for his belongings all the while. Locating his clothes, weapons and orbment fortunately didn't take long - as it turned out, all of them were scattered throughout the various

After several minutes of huddling under a tree and attempting to rationalize everything, she's finally decided that with no explanation in sight, this must be a dream. What else could it be? And with that in mind, she dusts herself off and starts walking, picking a direction and aimlessly working her way through the woods. Perhaps it's luck, but eventually as she's making her way out of the woods, she catches the sound of music on the wind, and with it being the only sign of anyone at this hour, she follows it to what looks like an apartment building. Now the sound is coming from.... above?]
H... hello? Is someone there?
[Or does her dream have a soundtrack?]

If Rui's looking up to the roof of the building, she might just notice a black-haired boy looking down not long after the sound of music ceases, scanning the area for the source of the voice he just heard. It won't take him long to spot here, but he's not going to speak up just yet - rather, he's waiting to see if she'll say something again, if only to confirm that she was the one he just heard.]

E-excuse me? Do you know where this is...?

...Time to see if he's already familiar enough with this place to help her out. Even if the Bracer Guild isn't actually represented here, he still has a duty to fulfill, after all.]
Actually, I do. Just a moment, I'll come down and explain. [His voice is calm and reassuring as he speaks, but as soon as he's done speaking, he'll pick up his journal, then head inside and down the stairs.
He'll be at the building's entrance in a few minutes. It's probably better to explain this when there aren't eight floors of a building between them, right?]

Still, she doesn't have much choice, so when Joshua exits the building, he'll find Rui waiting a few feet from the door, looking uncomfortable and very obviously out of place in her New Feather dress.]

Before I answer your question, there's one thing I want to clarify. You just woke up in this place, I take it? [Judging from her question, attire, and her general behavior, all signs point to her being a New Feather, but there's no harm in asking for a confirmation nevertheless.]

I wouldn't call it normal, but it seems to happen pretty often. [It's happened at least four times since his own arrival, as far as he's aware, and it's not as if he's been here all that long himself. He pauses for a moment, considering what to say next.]
This village is called Luceti. [Let's start off simple. If he mentions the nature of this place immediately, it'll likely only unsettle her even more, after all.]

[Oh god, was she really kidnapped? Does that mean some creep pervert changed her clothes, too? And what does he mean, that is happens often?]

...I'm sorry, but I don't think I've heard of a city with that name before.
[Then again, he's not familiar with the surroundings of their enclosure - just the geography of his own world, and that's of little help here.]

It's likely that this village isn't anywhere near the city you're from. Most of us don't seem to have heard of Luceti before arriving here. [At least going by what he's seen so far. If what the guide said about the nature of this place is true, it's not very surprising, admittedly... even if that explanation is still a little hard for him to believe.]

That's right. It looks like most of us were brought here without our knowledge. [He certainly didn't - and still doesn't - remember how he was brought here... and nor did the lieutenant, though Adell and later the guide did shed some light on that.]

I understand. I've only been here for a few days myself... and like you, I want to go home. [Back to Estelle and the others. He still has a promise to keep - something he can't do as long as he's stuck here on his own. ...Or, well, mostly on his own. There's one familiar face here, at the very least, even if they weren't exactly on good terms back in their world.]

Until then, I think it's best if we try to make the most of the situation. There might even be someone you know in this village. [Though hopefully, it's someone she's on good terms with. That... doesn't always seem to be the case with the people who arrive here, going by what he's seen so far.]
