A few questions for all of you:

Has anyone ever experienced an effect of a kidnapping actually get worse over time rather than better? Or does anyone know of a good way to deal with rather strange recurring nightmares?

[He probably should add asking about how long these effects usually last, ( Read more... )

Not personally, but it's possible. Sometimes there's insidious planted effects that will wither last a while or take a while to manifest. And that's not even going into things like your reaction to what did happen. So yeah, it's not super common, but I've heard of it.

Do you know of a more specific example? You don't need to name names, I would just like a better idea of what I may be looking forward to here besides the addition of nightmares.

[...] Delusions. Specifically, thinking one's arm was artificial when it wasn't. Also, lasting blindness.

[Leonhardt is silent for a bit, because well, he doesn't need either of those things being added right now.]

And were those ones that lasted too long or took a while to manifest?

Lasted too long is usually things like sense issues, like the blindness. The delusions one was delayed.

It would be hoped this is not the case for any others. I know I would not wish this on anyone.

Yeah, agreed.

[Though, as she suggested earlier, it's also possible some of it isn't a direct effect and just secondary trauma. Like what always happened with Rena]

[That could be the case, but he's really more bothered by the effect than the kidnapping itself because the whole having his memory altered so much is making him not even trust himself any more.]

I do appreciate your time and assistance. At least that helps to know what to expect and perhaps I can hope this wears off before the next experiment.

[It won't, though.]

Yeah, no problem. ...If it doesn't though, there's other places to consult. Paprika or my SOS-Brigade or something.

I definitely will keep that in mind, thanks.

[Though honestly, if it doesn't go away in another about a week, he's probably going to go to the clinic for something stronger that would keep him out for a whole night. He's just a bit wary after how bad off he was when he returned due to the effects of sedatives. But other options are definitely good if the clinic can't offer anything that won't have very negative effects.]
