[So, not long after the end of the play today - less than half an hour later, in fact - Joshua's on his way back to his own apartment. Sure, there was still that New Feather party afterward, but... honestly, he's not too interested in sticking around for that, much less after the play. And the less risk of anyone bothering him about his own role in the play, the better, really.

But of course, considering who else lives in Community Building 3... There's a good chance that he'll run into someone else on the way back, isn't there?]

[Sure is a good chance of running into your neighbor, though he did leave immediately after to avoid having to deal with the other people.

But when he came back Cecilia decided to dart outside the door and he is just finally finding her as Joshua returns. Now that is likely a sight there, someone like Leonhardt holding an adorable fluffy black kitten and trying to get his door open while she's climbing all over him to get away again.]

[Alright, that is not something he expected to see when returning to the building. The lieutenant? With... a kitten? That's not something you see every day. Excuse Joshua for staring a little.

...He'll approach him and speak up after a moment, though, given that it looks like Leonhardt's having a little bit of trouble with the kitten.]

Do you need any help? [He could probably open the door or something, at the very least... Doing that while trying to keep that kitten from getting away seems a little difficult.]

[Never would have suspected he likes cats, right? And it's obvious she wants to go explore the building some more.

And excuse him for not looking over, but he's trying to keep an eye on the kitten who is still being all squirmy and taking both hands to prevent her from getting away.] Actually, yes. My apologies, but could you get the door open for me so I can get Cecilia back in my apartment?

[Ce...cilia...?

...He called the kitten Cecilia. Joshua's... not all that sure how to feel about that right now.]

... Just a moment. [Opening the door won't take long for him, fortunately, seeing as he's not stuck carrying a kitten that's trying to get away around like Leonhardt is. From there, it should just be a matter of getting her indoors without her immediately scuttling off again.]

[But it's such a pretty name for an adorable little kitten.]

It is most appreciated. My apologies again when I'm sure you wanted to relax after the play and playing a female role yet again. [And he will go ahead and hang up his coat while trying to hold onto still squirming little bundle of fur. Yet it is likely unusual to see just how gentle Leonhardt is with the kitten despite this behavior.

And he likely should be polite and invite Joshua inside even though he's sure the invitation will be refused just as politely.] You may come in if you wish. I do not mind your company.

[And no matter what Joshua's answer is, he's attempting to distract the kitten with letting her play with his belt. It's definitely evident seeing the inside of his apartment that she has toys and all (though besides that it is pretty sparsely furnished and decorated), but she definitely seems to love that belt of his and it is working very effectively as a distraction.]

[It's pretty, sure, but... it just had to be that name, didn't it?

He won't respond to that comment about his role - partially because he'd really just prefer not to have to say anything regarding it, and partially because both that invitation and the way Leonhardt is treating the kitten is a little distracting.]

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to pass. [Never mind that he more or less lives next door and there really wouldn't be any harm in staying for a little while. He just... kind of wants to go back to his own apartment right now.

First things first, though...]

...I didn't know that you had a kitten. [It's a little surprising, really, albeit in a good way. Leonhardt didn't really strike him as the kind of person who would adopt a pet, let alone a small kitten like this one.]

[He rather likes that name and it wouldn't be something that would hurt him.

But really, what is so odd about Leonhardt treating this little kitten with such affection? He's a decent person and all, and the kitten is adorable. But then Joshua doesn't exactly know of how he does like children and also likes animals. Animals don't lie or deceive, so he can like them.] She needed a home. It was nothing more than that.

[Though really, the affection he's showing is far more than just her needing a home. He obviously adores her.]

[It's not odd so much as just plain unexpected. From what he's seen of the lieutenant so far, he didn't really strike Joshua as the kind of person to be fond enough of an animal to be willing to take it in.

But "nothing more than that"? He's not quite buying that.]

You seem to like her a lot. [Despite the fact that she just tried to run off, no less. It's kind of heartwarming. Although he's not really sure if letting her play with his belt when there's plenty of toys to use as an alternative is such a good idea...]

[Smart move there. Leonhardt isn't the type to admit he cares, after all and he is definitely concerned that one day he might be sent home and poor little Cecilia will need a new home.] An animal isn't going to deceive another like humans do. I merely was not in one place long enough to have a pet. Wasn't it the same for you? I seem to recall a piece of information about you liking dogs.

[Of course he remembers Joshua's puppy and was saddened at its tragic fate as well, though more so with Karin's obviously. But let Joshua think the Intelligence Division's info was indeed that good.]

[Wait a minute... What? That's definitely not something most people would know about him.]

I do, but... How do you know about that? [Sure, he's fine with most animals, but it is true that he has a bit of a soft spot for dogs. But that's not something he simply goes around telling people... and as a result, it's not really a well-known fact about him. So how did Leonhardt find out about it...?]

[It would be so obvious if you had your memories, Joshua.] You obviously underestimate my ability to gain information. But truly, what can I do with that? At best I would know what to get you for your birthday perhaps, which is December 20th.

[He's obviously enjoying being able to troll with this info. Of course he knows it because he's know Joshua for 11 years, after all.]

[ ... ]

You shouldn't give away animals as gifts. [Please don't consider that, Leonhardt. Not even jokingly. Not that he'd really mind all that much, but... still. That sort of thing generally isn't a good idea.]

Besides, why would you gather this kind of information about me? Like you said, something like me liking dogs isn't exactly useful information... [Knowing someone's birthday could have its uses, he'll admit as much - and the fact that Leonhardt knows his is honestly a little bit creepy... but yet it's somehow not as unsettling as one would expect it to be.]

[He smirks some more. It's so fun riling his little not-brother like this.] I'm quite aware it is rude to give something that requires care. But one never does know when such information could be very useful in the future even if I cannot see the use now. But situations change as time goes on, don't they?

[But now he'll go back to his normal calm.] Please don't concern yourself with my information. There is a reason, and I will not use it against you unless needed.

[It's not rude so much as potentially dangerous for the animal. It's the one that suffers if its new owner can't handle taking care of it, after all. Joshua probably could, at least, but... even so, it's still not really a good idea.]

You're right. Still, I can't think of any situation where that information would be useful. [Maybe if they had to, like, go past a bunch of dogs and everyone else was terrified of them, but what are the odds of that? It's far too unlikely.

That other statement, however, makes him pause for a moment. A reason, huh?]

...All right. I won't. [As long as their truce is still going on, he shouldn't have a reason to use any sort of information against him... or so he'd hope. Though he's admittedly wondering about that reason, but if Leonhardt were willing to speak about it, it's likely that he'd have done so already, he suspects.]

[Well, it's not like Leonhardt can say he knows more of Joshua's past than even Joshua knows at the moment with the lack of memories.] Even the smallest of details helps paint a more vivid picture of the person. That is what will be useful in the end even if each detail is not.

[And you should know this, Joshua. Don't you have to jot everything down in your bracer notebook because something useless could become a clue later on? Anything known about a person tells a lot about the person's overall character. Like Leonhardt here being all affectionate with his kitten definitely shows a different angle of the man than what was seen of him as Special Ops Commander.]
