well im gunna follow katie pengras lead and try and post in here more often.... god only knows why.
im in a freakin opera. der kaiser von atlantis google it. its a one act opera in German. ich bin Der Tod (i am death). no really... thats my character.
it was written by a guy in the German ww2 concentration camps and anticipating his trip to a death camp handed all of the manuscripts he had written over to a friend to hide and save.
people pieced it together a while later and came up with a finished version.
dual sets of text were found for some parts and sometimes politically volatile text was blacked out and replaced with benign dialogue.
and its all 20th century and atonal and crazy.
the introduction is reminiscent of peter and the wolf. which oddly enough FSO is performing this winter.
i had to get a new accompanist which is weird because ive been working with the same one for 2 years now.
this new lady is expensive.
