Valentines Day
valentine number one: my dad.
valentine number two: mike fraiser in the second grade.
valentine number three: noah.
Valentine number four: cliff.
Birth: A long time ago my dad established his place as the guy who would always love me the most. All things aside, I believe this is true. He is my number one Valentine always.
Second Grade: Mike Fraiser proves himself as the only kid who will put up with the seven year old me and the seven year old Sonja Krygeris. He conveniently lives across the street from sonja and gives me green flowers wrapped in tinfoil and barbie chocolates. oh and a poster of two dogs getting married. my mom still secretly wishes i would marry him to this day, either him or kurtis coughlin.
Sixteen: Noah gives me lucky bamboo. I love it until we break up, and then I ignore it for months in the hopes that it will just die. But it doesn't, and I take care of it again, and it lives for years. I cried the day I realized that plant was dead.
Eighteen: Cliff and I go to visit Nan in the nursing home and she doesn't remember Cliff's name or the names of her children. She is alone and upset and she tells us that she is ready to die. I make a small scrapbook for Cliff of who we are, where we live, and what our lives are like so that one day, if he should ever forget how he lived, that maybe it will help him remember.
Nineteen: That would be today. I made homeade valentines to hang around the house and tomorrow I'll make breakfast. My aunt michelene is in the hospital and I want to make sure she has a valentine tomorrow. I want to sing her a song and say goodbye to her because she is ready. My uncle jimmy is also in the hospital, I want to be his valentine too tomorrow and make sure he's not eating too much salt.
tomorrow may be the roughest valentines day in a while. im staying up late and making a bunch of valentines for people in the hospital.
