Some of you might remember that I did a post last year in March.
Urban Decay Primer Potion VS. L'Oreal De-crease.
Here's my next experiment!
The girl at the register at Sephora looked at me crazy and said "Oh, you're getting both of them?" And I just said yes, haha. I guess she thought I didn't know they're both primers? And they both work the same?....OR DO THEY?
Anyway, I went three days with UDPP as a primer on one eye and TFSI as a primer on the other. I took pictures 3 times throughout the day. After I put my makeup on, the middle of my day and before I went to sleep. I didn't use any bases. I also have OILY lids. Again, I'm not saying "OMG CHANGE NOW", I'm just trying to help people that are now torn between UDPP and TFSI. We're ALL different. Maybe one works better for you than the other. :)
Quick sidenote: I used my finger to apply both of these (it says to use it). I'm wondering if I use a brush, will it work better? I've heard it makes a difference. So look out for my next experiement. :) Hopefully I'll have that soon (It's in progress right noooow! :o)!
I apologize right now for the AWFUL liner. I've been having weird liner days, lol.
Day One
Natural
11 AM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
7 PM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
4 AM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
By 7pm, UDPP started to crease, although TFSI held the color better. It seems like UDPP was starting to crease more, but by the end TFSI really seemed like it didn't control the oil. They both ended up creasing, but after hours and hours after I've been wearing makeup.
Day Two
Dark (switched eyes)
1 PM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
9 PM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
5 AM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
By 9, TFSI had started fading, but I think it held well. UDPP had started creasing a little, but as you can see TFSI creased more than UDPP did.
Day Three
Colors
1 PM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
8 PM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
4 AM:
UDPP:
TFSI:
They both really held the colors well. But UDPP seemed to fade more than crease by the end of the day.
This is kind of the ultimate primer face-off. This one is really you're own personal preference, I think. I know not everybody wears their makeup for 15 hours like I do. And I know not everyone has really oily lids like I do. Basically, it depends on if you have dry lids or oily lids, and how long you wear your makeup. If you have dry lids and wear your makeup for a maximum of 8 hours every day, save $10 and buy L'Oreal De-crease, like I said in my last post.
Just for a little more info, UDPP has a kind of smooth, creamy consistency, while TFSI has more of a thin (but still smooth), liquid consistency. UDPP is less vibrant (sometimes) but longer lasting than TFSI, on oily eyes. For a 0.34 oz of Urban Decay Primer Potion it is $17. For a 0.35 oz of Too Faced Shadow Insurance it is $17.
You just have to determine which would work best for you. Obviously Urban Decay Primer Potion works best for me. Simply because I have to wear my makeup for long periods of time and I need something long lasting. I can make things more vibrant with a base and I don't mind cracking it open to get my money's worth! I will, however, continue to carry both in my kit. :)
If I get the chance to do more of these, I'll use them against UDPP..unless they're specifically compared to a certain primer. :)
Anyway, I really hope that helps! :D
