Eyes So Distant
She sits alone in her car with a cigarette in her hand
Hair falls in her face but just a strand
Tears stream down with mascra running
He gets in and tells her no matter what she still looks stunning
Her eyes look at his and he sees the distance
Tries to kiss her and she keeps her resistance
Never was he told the story of this broken soul
Never did he know she was near to losing her control
She wipes her tears away smiles and lets out a light sigh
Weeping so much these past few days her eyes are dry
If he knew how the fighting killed her inside he might stop
If she knew how to tell him how she's hurting maybe she wouldnt go over the top
Her eyes are so distant as they peer through the night
Tomorrow will bring another pointless yet emotionally detroying fight
She knows it but she can't walk away from him ever, especially not now
All it takes for her forgiveness is a smile and a raise of his eye brow

People depend on her every day
