we set to sail on a packette full of spiced rum and tea leaves

the last the few days have been interesting. i've been in one hell of a good mood, but not for any real reason. lots of just hanging out with paul, elisha and erwin, in various combinations. yesterday we celebrated a guy running into a door. the other day we drove to various small towns around bakersfield and got scared away from a graveyard because elisha didn't want to get hit with a flashlight. the 24hour chinese food quest is still unfinished, and it hangs in the back of our collective conciousness like broken cobwebs, annoying, but not terribly pressing.

i can't figure out how to say it in person, but the answer to their joking questions is that i love them. they are there for me when i need someone, and they are just good people. and i recognize that i need a bit of mockery, i take myself far too seriously sometimes. i would kill or die for any one of them, and i know they'd do a great deal as well.

also, who the hell else would i adventure with?

i've found a new favorite author, H.L. Mencken. great stuff. modern satire and cynisism at it's very best. he wrote over half a century ago and his work is still relevent today.

i get to sort through literally hundreds of books next week or the week after, and take home a nice amount of them for my personal collection. i expect to have much fun with this. also i get to keep a bunch of records. ill probably end up just taking a couple boxes of those, cuz there is probably about twenty full boxes, and i have nowhere to put them.

im seriously thinking of a storage unit. and that scares me a little.

i may be looking into my future here kids.

which may be ok. im cool with the idea of literally every wall in my house being filled with books, plus books in boxes and my garage turned into a mini library. in fact, the idea makes me quite happy.
mini fridge, air temp control units, easy chair, small table, maybe a coffee maker, a nice record+cd player. sounds like a plan.

you know what else sounds like a plan? that pasta salad in the fridge.
