The fact of the matter is that I just turned 21 and had the best birthday in a long time. It's nice to actually have my birthday festivities on my birthday and really feel like it was a special day for me. As we were coming home tonight after a good time with good friends, Noelle and I commented that it was a very mature (yet fun) birthday celebration - therefore, definitely not a typical 21st birthday and hence the 24 quote. Yes, I had some sangria with dinner and the waitress had to check my ID so I officially had my first alcoholic drink as a legal adult. My friends, of course and as always, are wonderful and witty in with their presents and companionship. I love that we enjoy discussing intricate things like God and sexuality, but also have enjoy listening to Kevin/Mary/Jenny make up stories about imaginary bears. Obviously, it is crucial that we like to laugh a lot. Good times.
Pretty much my perfect birthday (aka today) would include all of the following:
* finding my room decorated with lots of balloons courtesy of the roomie
* getting flowers and a bday balloon delivered from my parents
* having my phone ringing off the hook from bday happiness wishers
* getting cards and packages in the mail
* going out to dinner with my friends and taking lots of pictures
* listening to "gypsie jazz" and drinking coffee at Caffe Da Vinci for the first time (finally!)
Yep, that's pretty much the basics for a wonderful birthday for me! Tomorrow I'm excited to go buy a new digital camera as a birthday present to myself. Watch out, a sneaky snapshot of you could catch you unawares in the near future.
