Being in Seattle made me want Home very badly
The morning after I returned to these desert doldrums, I decided I'd find a job, and I did.
Two weeks later, I'm already starting to plan my escape from this blacktop valley.
This morning after calling my Mami and Mr. Link, I decided I'd give Dave, my old landlord, a call.
He picked right up and we chit chatted for a couple minutes.
Him and Jeremy are fixing up the roof of the back house, doing yard work, the usual.
I asked about Shadow. Dave loves her, says she's the best guard dog, even barks if it's Dave and she knows it.
I told him I got a decent paying job and would be ready to leave in a couple months.
Asked if there were any rooms opening up.
He said that coincidentally, Kate is leaving in a couple months.
I said "great, I really didn't want to live with Kate again"
"Oh, no, yeah, she's kind of an issue around here, you know" he said
I can't believe she's lived there an entire year and she's still an issue and they still haven't kicked her out.
Dave was SOOO excited to hear that I was returning to his place "Can't wait to have you back, buddy!" he said.
I'm glad going Home to a HOME and not a garage, or sofa or whatever else my friends can offer me.
I can't wait to have my sweet serenity back.
That place brought me so much peace of mind, and happiness.
I loved it, and I think, if it could, it would have loved me back.
Maggie will be so happy to sniff the slough air, and know she's home.
yeah, man, yeah
