PORK CHOP CHOPS

a. it always pissed me off when patients or their accompanyings insisted on being seen first although a lot of people are ahead of the line. you see, a long line is a trademark of any government hospital where ever you may go. sometimes, they just cant understand the beauty of order and the resulting efficiency. i cannot work in a chaotic clinic, i get easily distracted and i dont like being sidetrack when im seeing a patient much more now that i dont have somebody to assist me. makalibog sa akong utok!!!

b. i think there's a common illness among our politicians, you see this when a patient will hand you a note from the politico, telling you to facilitate the treatment of this patient xxyy or to assist this patient xxoo. and this patients will think that this note will buy them surgical materials and meds, exempt them from lining up, and give them the right to demand. what are they thinking?! that we're magicians! that we can make this sheet of paper into IVF's and sutures! pagka-leche! if ever you insist to these patients that they have to buy this and that, mosumbong dayon sa ilang politico nga gi-pangwarta. or if you tell them that if they should have these labs done before any meds are given, mosumbong na pud kay gi-lisud lisud og wala tagda. double leche! maypag mag nurse na lang ta tanan, larga ta amerika.

c. this is a common scene at the ER, its usually a trauma patient and all the relatives and friends are there, screaming and shrieking that somebody attends to their patient IMMEDIATELY! when doctor asks the medical history like what & when did this happened, whats the patient's age, etc. the relatives/friends will get angry at you why you are asking such stupid questions when you should be doing something to their patients. some people just cant understand that what you're asking are important things to guide you to your treatment. like if the incident happened a week ago, the management would be different if it happened a few hours ago. a gun shot wound is managed differently from a stab wound(sakto ba, dr ginel?). the information you got from a friend is usually different from a family member. usahay pa taga-an ka ug lain-laing version sa incidente! himan-himan nagaras ra di ay ang agtang, nahadlok sa dugo ang pasyente. way pulos! way nada!

d. there are some patients who thinks that when they stepped into our medical center, the government pays for everything kay NAG-BAYAD KUNO SILA UG BUHIS! duh!, im paying more taxes than they do! himan-himan ra pud mubalhin sa chong hua kay bati ang sotto, daghan wawarts! samot ka pordoy.

e. for my friends who are reading this, dont get me wrong. there are really good and responsible patients at our medical center. dili man pud tanan badlungun, it's only in sotto that you can see the various faces of human resilience, determination, adaptation and ambivalence. graveh!!!

f. and this one goes to my klasmyt lady onoree, who is very much fulfilled and happy tungod sa bata sa kanyang sinapupunan. i now pronounce you my most loyal fan, reader and komenter. luv u fren!
