So, I think I've got that job with New Orleans Publishing Group...at least, I'm 99% positive it's mine, based on the way the news editor was talking to me. I'm going in for a second "interview" with their publisher & editor-in-chief later this week. She really liked my work, and complimented me on my portfolio & the photo book I had printed.
Not to mention that everyone has had nothing but good things to say about me around there, and how well I've done on everything I've done for them for the past couple years. I hate to get overly excited about it, but when she told me I was the only person she knows who was discussed about taking on this gig.
It's a good deal for me too. Roughly 40 hours per week of work (average of 11 assignments per week for 3 publications monthly). I retain ownership of all work I photograph, so I can sell to anyone else who may want to use whatever I shoot. I get to make up my schedule for the most part. I get to do post work at home & ftp images I chose to submit.
*If* this all falls as it seems it will, nearly 3 years of busting my ass will have finally paid off.
Oh yeah. ;D
