So my physics class this quarter has an online component to the homework grade.  Everyone gets the same problems (just with different numbers) on an online site, and we solve them there.  There is also a message board at the bottom of each problem intended for collaboration.  I just found this gem at the bottom of one of the problems (names are censored).

Think about the energy of simple harmonic motion (potential and kinetic) along with the conservation of energy.
