Man, I remember last year when my flight into Chicago 1st quarter got canceled; I sure don't remember getting anywhere near all that...

So with cancellations due to anything that is _not their fault_ (such as weather), they don't have to give you anything, unfortunately. This is what caused my fun experience when I was coming up to school this quarter.

When it is their fault, however, they will give you travel vouchers and such. As an FYI, for Delta, I believe that $600 is the maximum that they'll give you. The computer will tell them $400 is the max, but if they're desperate, apparently a manager can manually override it to go as high as $600. They'll start out offering $200. Your Mileage May Vary ;).

I was once in a situation where it was their fault and they simply said "We will pay you a hotel room... if you find one. Good luck with that". And they were right. There was no hotel room to be easily found in Washington for the four large airplanes that were delayed till the next day.
