Wednesday/Thursday dramas
by all means coping, in addition to retracing back my k-drama roots. a long time ago before dong bang shin ki and big bang, i was smitten over korean dramas that i give 2-3 hours every night even on weekdays to watch the latest craze and cry my heart out (like i'm the one sick of leukemia and falling in love with my oppa whom i thought is my blood brother). maybe it was just some phase i had to go through to find myself and bare my repressed feelings (nothing tragic, but typical teen stuff of homework and real work and commuting and being tired). maybe so, crying helped me release stress and get a restful sleep...
and well, i'm at it again, watching k-series that piqued my interest and now see it in a different light of enjoyment and free from crying. and clearly, can't let the DSL connection go to waste. while k-pop is being a mess i'll try to find other things to get distracted on. hopefully by the end of episode 16 or 24, there will be lesser days to wait for a comeback and/or a song release? =) i'm watching something boyband related now, so really, who am i kidding?
미남이시네요 (You're Beautiful)
when stuff on the other network started to become less of interesting, i decided to jump ship and make the switch. it was rather painful but i can't force myself to watch something equally painful. mianhae.
so finding out about the concept of this series, i said to myself hey hey hey this is a drama that you might be able to relate to. so now after watching episode where A.N.JELL fans started to shout ("if we really love him, we should be happy about oppa's relationship... chukhahae, chukhahae!") i can't help but LOL on my seat because that's seriously a very familiar scene! and when they squealed over supposedly Jeremy's facial wash and Shin Woo's razor sneaked out by Minam-ah's auntie i LOLed so hard again because for sure i've heard that kind of scream before!
the characters aren't really new. the typical cast of (i guess girl pretending to be a guy is IN right now), leader bad boy with a soft heart, romantic lonely boy buying the love of girl pretending to be a guy, and sweet boy for comic relief. which makes it more endearing and comfortable to watch. there's a twist though, which pushed me to watch this further. this is serious kilig for taekyung-minam, i'm anticipating the big confession scene.
jung yong hwa reminds me of lee dong goon - is he new? and it took me sometime to accept that park shin hye has really grown up, and i view jang geun seok and lee hong ki differently now! they're so amusing to watch!

아이리스 (IRIS)
when productions have budgets this big, then everything is big. this is like watching an action-packed movie in my laptop. i'm not a big fan of action series since the beginning, but this. this is IRIS.
after much prodding from a friend kahel_luna, and knowing that Kim Tae-hee is starring in this (she's a favorite!), i immediately downloaded episode 1 and started watching after You're Beautiful. hehehe. This is an instant hit! They even have scenes in Budapest, Hungary (uwaaaah EU i miss you), and Akita, Japan (snow nyebe snow) and since the plot is all about government plottings and espionage and intelligence tactics, it gave that mysterious interest that i'm really eager to get lost into.
i haven't seen any Lee Byung Hun material before and despite knowing how good an actor he is, i'm still quite surprised with the level of acting he's really capable of. he's a good reason to watch this series. awesome supporting cast too, i'm not familiar with their names though but Oh Yes! having a veteran cast of this level, i'm not surprised they're raking on the ratings hitting 30% and more because you can't expect anything less from them. it's a great ensemble.
i'm not forgetting Choi Seunghyun (TOP from Big Bang). he's playing as a hired assassin by some Mr. Black he gets to talk to on the phone. at first, i kept on thinking, his role could be played by anyone because there aren't much scenes for him (yet) but then i had to retract. no one can match that bad boy ready-to-kill face of his. he's my favorite in BB after all! and after watching episode 6, i realized, there's really no one like him :D
yes yes, i'm dowloading the raw files and patiently waiting for soft subs. so i maybe a couple of episodes behind but watching dramas from streaming sites is making me stressed. plus, i like them clear and in High Definition - the best way and proper way to watch dramas ~
