June has finally arrived! Where have all the months of 2009 gone to? and though the start of June has brought all kinds of news; -good, -unexpected, -exciting, definitely a lot of things to look forward to. i feel like i'm speaking in codes but then, i hope everything turns out smoothly as clear and as cloudless as the summer sky.
It is my favorite time of the year, greatly so because it's my birthday month!!! yeh yeh adding up age again. This got me thinking what I want for my birthday and suddenly realize that ah! I Will be getting my birthday wish! (we'll discuss this further as the month progresses).
what have i been up to lately? aside from basking in the warm sun, roaming around Utrecht and Amsterdam. Aren't you surprised we're not going on to some great weekend summer getaway in some nearby city? We're thinking Lisbon or Venice but well, I think we've just come to realize the importance of loving your own first before anything else. (i'll tell if Lisbon pushes through ;)) Also now that i'm living alone, I get to spend some quality alone time in the house. And I'm proud to say that I've been standing in my kitchen far longer hours than all the time I spent in our kitchen back home in Manila. HAHA. (i was kinda forced to cook my breakfast, lunch and dinner - otherwise who else will, but eventually got to enjoy it)
I made kimchi jjigae(stew) recently. I followed to recipe I found on the net and it turned out fantastic. It took effort to find the ingredients and fortunately there's canned kimchi available in the asian market. It doesn't help that I miss authentic asian food, so might as well make it! =D we've also tried dolseot bibimbap before, so maybe I can try rolling kimbap next time :) I may not be as confident to let others try what I cooked, but we're getting there!
Last saturday, the girls took advantage of the warm weather and sunbathed on the rooftop from 3pm to 8pm. (the sun is out until 11 now!) with all these fantabulous food and drinks. All Girls' Bonding Time!
Le Monferrine ASTI sparkling wine (my favorite!)
home made shepherd's pie
bite-sized sausages (kabannossi)
red red fresh strawberries
chocolate fondue
