[After Jaffar's suggestion to carry her weapon everywhere, Rebecca is quick to react to having the grocery store set on fire. Once she's a good distance away, her bow is fixed on Aku, and she fires without warning.]

[Aku is hit in the arm by the arrow. He lifts up the offended spot and glares at it with a look that seems to say "You've got to be fucking kidding me."

The arrow is absorbed. He then outstretches his hand and fires the arrow back out of the palm of his had at Rebecca.]

Ah...!

[That was unexpected, at least. She's never fought against something that can fire her arrows right back at her. She barely moves aside in time, but she definitely looks shaken. For a moment, at least. She still readies another arrow, aiming carefully.]

There were people in there!

Oh no! People? Inside? Now I feel just terrible!

Shapeshifting master of evil. Don't you fools pay attention. [Aku repeats the same trick with the arrow, this time setting it on fire when he returns it.]

[She already has another arrow prepared to fire when the first arrow is fired back. She fires at the last second, the other arrow burning the exposed skin of her arm as she tries to sidestep. She hisses in pain, but she's not willing to give up quite yet.]

You...you're no different than a common bandit.

BA HA HA HA HA! Foolish girl! The great Aku is anything but common!

[He's tiring of the arrow trick and doesn't even bother returning the one that sinks into his skin. Instead he switches to the eye lasers, aiming for her bow specifically.]

[Not her bow! It was a gift from Adell, so she rolls to the side again, but not before the lasers graze her left arm, leaving a nasty burn behind. She gets to her knee, glaring at Aku before shouting at him.]

You're nothing but a common bully, burning the store like that...and attacking people.

I am AKU, your Lord and Master! You fools have defied my will, now you must suffer the punishment!

You're wrong. Eliwood is my lord and my marquess, and it's he that I will serve and no one else. A lord takes care of others and sees to it that his land is protected...and you are not my master, nor is anyone.

Yes, yes. Blue blah blah. The great Aku has heard it before. Perhaps this will be more convincing.

[Time for some shapeshifting master of evil. His form compresses into a ball floating in the air... and from it, a dozen tentacles (Aku is bad at anatomy) emerge. He'll move in her direction as those tentacles start pulling up pieces of burning wood from the store and flinging them at her.]

[The first piece of burning wood she manages to avoid, only ending up with a scrape on her leg as she moves past it. The second one, however, smacks into the side of her face. She stumbles, very nearly falling backwards, but she regains her balance after a moment.]

A-ah...that's enough! You've hurt enough people!

Perhaps you are right. Yes, your bold words have touched my heart. No wait.

[A tentacle dives into his own abdomen and searches around.] Ah, no heart after all. Well then. [Aku will just barf some flames at Rebecca.]

[Threadjacking!]

[Adell, who was near enough to hear the chaos shortly after it started arrives on the scene... there's a giant demon setting things on fire and attacking people! ...And... wait, that's!]

[Using every ounce of his speed, Adell charges forward and grabs her into his arms shielding her, and escape the flame wave. He ends up a little scorched from the flames, but he doesn't look worse for the wear.]

[Rebecca herself is covered with burns and a few cuts, thanks to flinging burning wood and returning fire with her arrows. Still, she's very happy to see Adell, even if she's too breathless to say so.]
