So it's 11:00 on July 16. Last night Alena, Laura and I went Harry Potter party hopping! We went to Barnes & Noble (where Laura had her book reserved), then to Borders (blehh I hate that place, although they had a cool tattoo you could get!), and then to the local book store Pages for All Ages. Pages had the best party! There was so much to do there. They had this lady who looked EXACTLY like the actress who plays Professor Trelawney and she gave you your fortune. After we left Pages we went to Baskin Robbins and that was good. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Baskin Robbins .. almost as much as I love Harry Potter. We then returned to Barnes & Noble after Baskin's to wait in line with Laura so she could purchase her book. Since Alena didn't reserve a copy @ Barnes we went to Walmart. It's CRAZY how cheap stuff is there. It was such a good idea to go there because when we walked in around 12:45ish there was NOBODY there and just a whole STACK of the Harry Potter books. The list price is $29.99 or something like that, but at Walmart Alena paid $17.01 which is NUTS. Laura reserved her copy and go the 40% off the list price from Barnes but she paid 20$. As for me, I unfortunately don't have my copy of Half-Blood Prince yet. My mom pre-ordered it back in December when it was first announced that the book was coming out. But instead of reserving it at the local Barnes & Noble she pre-ordered it from there and had it shipped to the house. So here I am, impatiently waiting by my window on JULY 16 for the beautiful new book to find its way to my doorstep via a person in a brown uniform who drives a UPS truck. I woke up at around 8 o'clock and I've been waiting for the stupid ugly brown truck to apparate in front of my house ever since. I've tried everything to help pass the time .. I even tried watching TV. Don't ask me what I was thinking. But let's just say that I suddenly remembered why I don't watch television that much anymore. I could try reading Pride and Prejudice but I doubt I'll be able to muster the focus in which that book requires. Now look at me! I'm sitting here writing a long entry on how I'm so desparate to get this extraordinary book in my hands. This is one of my longest entries I've had in a while. I don't know how people are so religious on updating their livejournals. I personally do find it a chore sometimes .. but right now it's serving as an act of desparation and something to satisfy my impatience. I just think about how many people across the globe are reading Harry Potter and it's amazing. It's mind-boggling to think that so many people share that one same interest. Okay well I must return to my window and lend both my eyes and ears back to watching and listening for the UPS truck.
