Any time any situation, for me, gets passed a certain shitty point, i never just sit back and take it, or give up. I also disagree highly in deciding there's nothing that can be done just because "that's how it's always been."
Racism and oppression and rape and human trafficking happen every day, but do you agree with those?
I don't really care if the situation looks bleak. It's about as dim as it's been in a long time.
No, petitioning doesn't do shit. That's the whole-hearted truth.
But, just because it sucks in china, africa, the middle east, etc., doesn't mean that I care so little as to just let the shit hit the fan here.
I'm constantly confronted with the question of, "well, realistically, what can I even do?"
Even those brave and selfless folks can't do much other than gather a following. Those people haven't the power, though, compared to this government and its followers.
Perhaps it is possible to change the worlds by changing enough minds. But you should know very well just how difficult most people are.
Apply that on a much larger scale, and it seems quite obvious why things are the way they are.
Protesting doesn't help anymore either. Millions have recently gathered....and nothing.
They changed the laws on protesting too.
However, in spite of all that, I refuse to just sit around and be like "Oh well!"
