I accidentally forgot to take my journal, to tell everyone I had left. But after my birthday, Mum was adamant. We had to go.
I was to grow up, become a woman, and realise that our world is changing. I'm not positive how spending the rest of the summer hols, visiting my Muggle relatives would make me a woman. But Father says never to argue with Mum when she gets so flustered, it tends to get messy.
We've just returned home and the pipes have been making this awful racket. Dad has been working on it, but it's a very old house, been in my family for generations. Of course, the portraits in the house being very opinionated will never let us forget it, but Mum says not to listen to them. She only talks to great, great grandmother Trelawney, usually while cleaning. She moves her portrait from room to room. Today, great, great grandmother Trelawney was in the library while I was reviewing for the start of term. She told Mum that a terrible Fate has befallen our House Elf and I'm supposedly to make great strides in my Arithmancy.
I miss Hogwarts, my work, and you, Peter. I'm anxious for September.
Oh, Lily. I only just heard what happened. Mum and I have already sent a parcel with our owl. It should reach you soon.
