And so the longest winter break I have ever had comes to a close. (I haven't seen a sick person since the end of November.) It is odd that sandwiched between the butt-kicking of 3rd year medical school and the butt-kicking of epic proportions that is intern year you've got 8 months of work to do in 11 months time. Granted I spent much of August off studying for boards and this past December off traveling for interviews, but still, add in the fact that more than a few rotations are throwaways, there are probably only a good 3 or 4 months of real work. Anyway, I won't belabor the point since I have probably already done a fair bit on this.
Break itself was a good recharge. As usual, ambitious plans were laid out, of which some were successfully completed. Axis and Allies never happened, but countless Nazi zombies were destroyed for the greater good. Bomberman was an unexpected and fun throwback to simpler times. The lust for bbq ribs caused a bit of a time crunch with the beginning of Wicked, but it was still wonderful. Got a Nerf Revolving 6-shot Sister Tormentor™ at White Elephant Gift Exchange and Lego Star Wars for Christmas among other fun things. Contemplated and ultimately rejected coming out of WoW retirement in favor of lighting things on fire in Team Fortress 2. New Years at Nat's as usual. Dominion proves it is all about market economics. Last bit of break unfortunately wiped out by sore throat and fever, but full recovery by tomorrow seems likely.
