Merck and Schering-Plough finally released the results of their ENHANCE study which showed that adding Zetia to Zocor conferred no additional benefit than Zocor alone and in fact may be harmful not just to your wallet but also in terms of plaque formation. The same goes for Vytorin, which is just a Zetia/Zocor combo in the same pill. They actually knew the results back in 2006, and still we have these ubiquitous ads for Zetia and Vytorin on television. It makes me wonder how much of this maneuvering is meant to try and make as much money as possible before this becomes more widely publicized.
