The party for the children went well. Thank goodness Dylan brought child locks for the offices. Not that they were really child proof unless you count Angel, but they did slow them down enough if they tried to get in you could see them. They were all very well behaved and lovely children. Mike and Brooke appeared as Santa and Mrs Santa and seemed to have a delightful time. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Still I was glad I am off my crutches or I should not have been able to keep up!
I received a call from Mother last night wishing me a happy holidays. Apparently now that Father is gone she is more willing to mend bridges I thought were gone. She did sound very lonely. To my surprise Father did put me into his will and that was the other reason she rang. She received enough to keep her comfortable but the bulk of the inheritance went to me. I still don't know what to think about that. Guilt over not treating me well or an attempt to buy me off from the afterlife?
It makes the present I bought for Fred a little more reasonable. I rather thought I was beggaring myself a bit, not that she is not worth it in every way.
One year ago today I asked her to marry me and I have not regretted a moment of our time together. May we have many more years of happiness before us.
