So I was driving to a fair to cosplay when I drove through the town I live next to I saw a bunch of British flags and at least three Canadian flags and one  Quebec flag

Now me being a hetalia fan I pulled over and stared at a sign that annouced "Welcome to the British invasion for about five minutes trying to decide If I should go to the Fair or ( Read more... )

I am from Vermont so the only Con we have is in November. I went to a country fair as Canada.
>.< yeah I am a nerd
I don't know why Quebec was there but I did have the distinct privilege to listen to a Quebec couple having an argument.
It was fun!

Fringlish? I could pick out insults in both English and french. In fact the term Hoser is the only way I KNEW they were Quebec and not French speaking Vermonters.

But I wasn't secretly listening to them fight. nope... not at all.
*is taking notes for her study abroad. 'Quebec people are interesting and have great insults, learn some for maximum fun in the USA.'

Yeah Quebec sounds cool and from what I hear of its rivalry with Ontario its like Vermonters and New Hampshirites, they insult each other but gawd forbid someone from another state insult either front of the other.

No American would say the Term "Hoser." Nor would any American feel insulted by said term mostly because we would be trying to figure out WHAT a Hoser is.
No seriously What is it?
Well I was exposed at a young age. My grandmother is 100% Quebecois and would sometimes forgets I was there and swear. It wasn't until I started imitating her that she taught me never to swear and insisted I use "Sugared lambs legs" instead.
....
I can't wait to get up to Montreal and live there.

Xd Well I am going to hopefully be studying At Bishops university in the Fall of 2010 as a study abroad program (its almost certain since most Canadian colleges are open and willing to take in people. Still I have to apply and everything), even doing my final project on the Differences in the Psyche of Americans and Canadians. I even have set up a journal on it called "Jumpingborders." I will be graded on the amount of interaction I get but...
Orz I don't know where to advertise it.

More than willing to and I may advertise on the Hetanada community once I get into the groove of things.
I think it won't be too much except me talking about getting into the university and preparing for it for about a year and then the juicy stuff will come up.
Though I may do reviews of Canadian movies.
I have heard wonderful things about a movie called "Strange brew."

I was hoping to do that. Mostly because for some reason you guys deny the "Eh" and yet when I hear Canadians from over the border they use it.
I am wondering if its like the "Ride polar bears to school thing."
Just meant to make us Americans look silly XD.

I wanted to watch that but I couldn't find it. So I rented Shivers or something like that and Passchendale.
I reserve judgment for the first based on the fact that I think I missed the point of the movie.
And Passchendale....
WAS AWESOME!
