Okay, so this entry is going to have to be split up into two, uvvawise it'll be years long and I don't want to bore any of my listeners. Haaaaaaaaaah. Organization.
First? Gary Indiana.
A week after getting my wisdom teeth out, headed out to Chicago to visit my lovely Lexi. She picked me up at da aipoht and we had the most wonderful of chats on the ride home. Even though my tongue was all swollen from all the extra chewing work that was needed since my teeth couldn't really help too much. I kind of sounded like I had eaten shellfish, if I were allergic to shellfish. Well, the first laugh of the night was paying for a $3.00 toll in nickels. If I didn't have stitches in my gums, I would have cried. After that, we passed our exit, and had to pay a toll just to go pay another toll. And a woman had no dollars.
Got to Valpo, and Lexi gave me a quick driving nighttour of the campus. Went to BWW and got too much for the table considering the hour they closed. Later that niiight was a throwback to my Elon experience- boy's apartment with drinking games (not so excited about) and Smash Bros (VERY EXCITED ABOUT, especially because it was on an N64 yahyah). So sleepy from the day, fell straight asleep. At her adorably purple house that I didn't realize was hers until the third day there.
The next day we slept late (wonderful since I got a whole extra hour because of the time change) aaand then we picked up some food, and went to Lexi's work place. Worked on a scavenger hunt, and then went on a trial run. Got to see the whole campus, and, of course, corn.
After this, I'm a little blurry as to what happened when, so we'll just pretend that this is the right order, although I'm sure I'm off.
This sticks out because it was so wonderful-- went to a local brewery and got a taster for supra cheap. Ten little beers split between all of us, yumyumyum. Then we went to a candy factory, where I had a downer, but then got to watch peach rings get packaged so that was fun. Car ride back, watched a woman who spent over $200 on candy gorge herself while driving away.
The night before that was relaxing and we just watched Criminal Minds and whipped up a simple easy dinner of pasta and some veggies for me, and salad for the others. Not that I'm a fatty, well, better say, not that I wouldn't eat salad, but at this point my right jawline swelled up with marbles and I couldn't exactly grind up lettuce.
The next night? Best. It was Earth hour, so we shut off all the lights, lit 10-15 candles, and played Skip-Bo with wine. I think I won the first game, but it was an embarrassing showing after that.
That's all I got. Lexi drove me back to the airport, hardly even got lost, and studied at the terminal for a hour or so. My plane was brand new that day, I was among the first passengers. And we got from Chicago all the way to New York in only liiiiiike 40 minutes or something crazy like that! Wowza!
Love my Lexi. And her roommates we pretty great as well.
