Title: The Fourth Wall Concept (2/5)
Fandom: Ace Attorney
Character/Pairing: Phoenix Wright, BiOCaAM (no, your eyes are not deceiving you)
Summary: Phoenix is visited by a strange person who claims to be from an alternate universe. Needless to say, shit happens. [Takes place right after T&T]
Author's Notes: lolol I'm made of fail.

In all honesty, Phoenix hadn’t been expecting another visit from the creepy-ass girl who said she was from a universe where he didn’t exist. Or maybe he acknowledged the possibility, but didn’t want to actually believe that it would happen.

Either way, she showed up once more after a day of hard work. Instead of lingering in the foyer, she was settled on his sofa, still enveloped in shadows. He wondered if she would melt or something if he dared to turn the lights on.

“Hello, Mr. Wright. We meet again.” Her voice, clear and confident as ever, was absolutely disturbing to his ears and not welcome in any respect.

He said nothing. She took this as a sign to continue and said, “I don’t believe I introduced myself last time. My name is Tara.” She stood and extended a hand, the rest of her body still dark and indiscernible.

Phoenix hesitated before fully gripping her hand. It was soft and small, the fingers short and pudgy-she was definitely a teenager.

“Have you met Zak Gramarye yet?”

“No,” he said in a way that made it clear that he wasn’t expecting to anytime soon.

“I see. Now, Mr. Wright, I have a very important purpose for coming here tonight, but before that, do you have any tea?” She pulled her hand away and settled back onto the sofa. “I’m terribly thirsty, you understand. Traveling between worlds is no easy task.”

It was becoming extremely difficult not to go into his bedroom and fall asleep, pretending that she never existed at all. Still, he couldn’t just leave her like this.

“I have coffee, but not tea,” he said, walking backwards into the kitchen.

“What about soda?”

He rummaged through the refrigerator absently before pulling out a bottle of soda (God only knew how old it was) and coming back into the living room. He hovered by the light switch before asking, “Is it okay if I turn on the light?”

A hand reached out of the darkness to grope around for the bottle. “If that’s what you want, go ahead. But don’t be expecting much.”

The way she said that left an unsettling sense of doom in his chest. Still, he switched the lights on to see a completely ordinary teenager, sitting there with a guilty expression plastered on her alarmingly pale face. Her cheeks immediately reddened as she got used to being exposed.

“I try not to go out in the light too much,” she said timidly, not at all possessing the confident voice she had just minutes before. “I’m kind of pale.”

‘Kind of’ is a gross understatement, he thought. What kind of parent would let their kid turn into a vampire? The bags under her eyes weren’t helping her case, either.

“But anyway, I come bringing you something very important.” She reached into her jeans pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper. “Here is the phone number for one Takumi Shu. I had to do a lot of stalking to get this number, and I hope you use it well.”

Taking the piece of paper from her, he sat down opposite to her, staring at the exceptionally long number written on the paper. “Okay…but who is he? Or she?”

“He is your creator and should be able to answer any question relating to your future, down to the person you’ll fall in love with and the moment you’ll die. But it’s vital that you remember to introduce yourself as Naruhodou Ryuuichi and say that you don’t speak Japanese.”

…Jesus Christ on a pogo stick. He wasn’t sure what to make of this. He was still in shock as she stood up to leave, looking at the floor awkwardly. She probably expected some kind of thank you.

“Uh, thanks?”

“You’re welcome.”

She turned on her heel and walked towards the hallway, stealing one last glance at him. “Until we meet again, Mr. Wright.”

Tara disappeared into the shadows once more.
