One of the units I'm taking this semester is about working in Aboriginal contexts. As I have been learning about past policies, the current problems, racism and modern prejudice against Indigenous Australians I have felt outraged, angry and sad. Yeah it makes me sad too, i've met a lot of great aboriginal people and thankfully they have all been very warm and accepting.

I think a large problem comes from the half-caste aboriginals who seem to get a huge chip on their shoulder. At highschool we had a couple of Aboriginal kids down from the Kimberley and they were utterly appalled at what they saw and also peoples interpretation of them because of it.

Having grown up in a lower socio-economic area I have a lot of distrust and dislike towards those types. Mainly due to th many times I have been threatened, beaten or robbed by the half caste assheads. I am trying to get myself away from that kind of thinking but it is hard.

I think a lot of it stems from several generations of the same type of people both white and black who seem intent on keeping the cycle going which is rather saddening. That being said, I do believe that the government has done a lot for aboriginal communities in urban areas but it is also a two way street.

Oh for a world where everyone is accepting and nice to each other. :D

Yeah I understand. My brother in law was randomly beaten by a group of Aboriginals when he was walking down street minding his own business when he was younger.

It is hard to change things *sighs*

I like nice! Hehe
