- eep, i don't remember. basta first round ng NASH? omg, i can't even remember if i got my first tournament right.

- erm, in terms of team letter parang nagpeak then balik sa sort of umpisa. pero i'd like to think i'd improved, at least marginally.
Which format do you prefer? BP, Asians, or Australs? Bakit naman?
- well, i haven't tried the australs format, so i'd have to say BP. mas masaya eh. and i have a lot of traumatic, gah asians moments.
What is your most memorable round so far in your debate career? Why?
- NDC 07 finals. it was like having an out of body experience. i was beyond exhausted, and so out of it. it was like being on autopilot. pwede ding octos of PIDC 08. i wasn't just hungover, i was still drunk. i couldn't look down at my notes because i'd feel like puking. i was the LO, and it was just word vomit. i was looking at the wall behind the adjes while talking and my cheeks and lips were numb. after my speech i just sat down and stared at the door. ftw.
First, there was previously in FEU debate circles called the San Beda curse. Everytime an FEU team would be near breaking (before NDC '07), they would meet a Beda team in Rd. 7 and get beaten, and not break. So that was the time the curse was broken.
What was the hardest room that you've ever been in? Kamusta naman?
- in general,it's always a hard room when you're up against the best teams. but on an emotional level, AUDC 08 round 7. we were up against vinny, ely, and dani. bubble room. we had to wait literally an hour for the decision (no silent rounds), and it was soooo bad aaron was punching walls, and anna and i were rationalizing everything. stress.
Sinong gusto mong makadebate na hindi mo pa nadebate noon? Pwedeng present debater or one of the ancients. At Bakit?
- neeks. winner siya eh. haha.
May naging crush ka ba sa debate community?
- of course.
Nagawa mo na bang pumunta sa isang tourney para lang masulyapan ang, at possibly makipaglandian sa, crush mo?
- erm, nung high school? in any case, the prospect of chevering someone is always an added perk to any tournament, but once i'm there, debate na ang motivation.
What was your most banban round ever? Anung kabanbanan ang ginawa mo?
- NDC 08 prelims round with sila jesus with victor as adj. wrong move to the nth level ang magdef challenge then. i don't know what got over raymund and i.
Do you have a debate grudge against someone?
- grudge is too strong a word i think, but yeah you have this thing where you set out to beat this team because they beat you the last time, mga ganun.
Debate Grudge against an institution?
- before, yes, i guess. because an institution doesn't make the debater. you can belong to a good (in terms of record) institution but that doesn't automatically make you a good debater. 'yun yung pet peeve ko, and it's something i'd hate to be seen as feeling or exuding. but whatever. now, not really. i'm generally zen about it. debate is a competition. you can't hate other schools because they're as competitive as you, or want to win as badly as you do. that's why it's important to keep things in a more positive perspective (nababasa mo ba ito, raymund? lol).

- hindi pa ako nahihibang.
At anong institution ito?
- kawawa naman 'yung institution if i'll have it represent someone who just happens to be epal and ick.
Did you ever have an 'upset' moment? Pwedeng kayo ang na-upset o kayo ang nag-upset.
- ang feeling naman. no comment nalang.
Was it justified naman ba?
- ewan. i guess luck has something to do with it. and the adj. adjes have different priorities. i think sometimes debaters have to take a walk on the other side to see how there's often a world of difference between how the adj sees the debate and how the debaters think the debate went. not that i'm defending incompetence, i'm just saying.
Which is a perfect segue to my next question: Have you ever been adjed by a banban adj?
- sino bang hindi? wins because of POI, nagannounce lang ng ranking tapos hindi niya maexplain, etc.
Pakiexplain. Anu pala ang ginawa niya sayo?
- erm, the usual i guess. unfair standards applied (relative to the other team), walang oral adj at all, dismissed our arguments right off the bat dahil hindi niya type personally, mga ganun. alam niyo na 'yun. iisa lang ang mukha ng "banban". bow.
Personally, ano dapat ang gagawin sa mga banban na adj?
- itrain? kasi at least nagaadj sila 'di ba? thankful ako sa effort. pero kung may effort nalang din, ayusin na 'di ba?

- PIDC 08. even if i missed 3 quarters of it. crazy night.

- hmm.dapat may format ng pagsulat ng opponents, rooms, motions, etc, all through out din. without fail. dapat isang pen lang all throughout. kasi everytime nauubusan ang ink, naeeliminate kami.

Do you look forward to being an adjudicator once you graduate from your debate career?
- debating is still different - it gives you a high, whereas adjng gives you high blood pressure. lol. keri lang. it's the least you can do, i think, to try to be a competent adj and give back after you're done with debate.

- yes, and i hate it. boooooring.
