Pathos

Feb 23, 2011 22:46

Sitting in my hospital chair alone as always,
Listening to the echoes of footsteps in the hallways.
Watching couples laugh and smile,
Wishing I too had a girl to take down the aisle.

I did once. I had a lot of girls.
They adored me; pranced around me in twirls.
Then the truck took my legs away.
And now no girls twirl my way.

All I do is sit here waiting;
Hoping that heaven is not overrated.
Girls used to stick to me like flies,
The only way they touch me now is with their eyes.
