What are the parts of a computer keyboard?

Every computer keyboard has the same basic structure. At the very least, every keyboard has a set of between 27 and 109 keys.

These include the alphabet keys, punctuation keys, and other specialized keys like "Shift" or "Alt".

Each key is placed on the board in a specific order called a qwerty layout.

There are three different types of keys on a keyboard:

1. Control Keys- These are found at the very bottom of your keyboard on both sides of the spacebar. The main control keys are Enter, Shift, Caps Lock, Tab, Backspace, and Escape.

2. Function Keys- These are located above the control keys (on most keyboards). The function keys do things like turn up the volume, open a new tab, or refresh a page.

3. Symbol Keys- These are the keys with symbols on them like the dollar sign, asterisk, or plus sign. Symbol keys are located above the number keys on most keyboards.

4. Navigation Keys- These keys help you move around on a screen or document. The main navigation keys are the arrow keys, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down.

5. Numeric Keypad- This is a separate set of number keys located on the right side of most keyboards. It includes math symbols like the plus sign (+), minus sign (-), and equal sign (=).
