I DYED MY HAIR! :D
I've had the dye (a "more natural" temporary Clairol dye) sitting around for a couple weeks, but I haven't found the time to actually do it. This past week I've been feeling a bit bummed and down on myself, so I decided tonight, fuck it, I'm going to stop reading this horrible science paper and make myself a redhead! Soooo I DID!
I've never dyed my hair before, ever. I guess I've just been too chicken. But one of my roommates now dyes her hair all the time, so I felt confident with her there to keep an eye on me. It was messy but fun, and now my head is a sort of deeper, richer color, darker with a strong flavor of red, though more purple/cooler toned than orange. I LOVE IT!!
BEFORE! A sort of, idk, medium boring brown.
...William Beckett, how did you get there?!?? :D
AFTER! Sassy and red and YAY!
Yay yay yay.
I have gotten SO TIRED of my hair lately, and I've decided to grow it out REALLY long again, like it used to be in high school. My hair looked like THIS:
I know, CRAZY. I realized that I look so much better in my high school graduation photos than college - partly because I was also skinner, but my hair was so PRETTY. A little bit challenging to deal with, but when it's long it shows its natural curliness in much prettier ways. (That's me and my wonderful little sis, Meredith, by the way. And that's my high school soccer team sweatshirt - I still have and wear it, even though it's worn down to almost nothing! :D)
So I really want to get back there! But the best I can do RIGHT NOW is change the color, so there we go. :D
Oh, and because y'all wanted to see, here's some pictures of me in costume at the Renaissance Faire, plus a few others! It was such a fun day with my wonderful cousins.
Me and little Hazel, the prettiest ladies in all the land! :D
Hazel and her mom and dad, Meg and Jeff. Meg's the one who's my actual first cousin.
The Rogue Blades are my FAVORITE. :DDD I've seen them about 4 times and the same act never, ever gets old. They're hilarious and slapsticky and dress a squire as a pretty lady and bring up a MAN FROM THE AUDIENCE to woo her. Ahahaha THEM. My favorite is DAVE THE KNAVE, the guy in black - he's so chaaarming, sigh!
Wacky swordplay! The wooden stage was wet, so they had to do BABY STEPS SWORDFIGHTING. It was fucking hilarious. :D
♥♥♥
Hazel got herself a little fairy wand full of GLITTER. I was very glittery by the end of the day.
My favorite booths are always the ones with molded glass. SO PRETTY. One day I will indulge myself and buy a glass dragon.
I saw this and went lolWHUT.
Me and my Meg! She is one of my favorite people in the whooole wide world.
GRATUITOUS CLEAVAGE SHOT! I bought myself this BEAUTIFUL necklace while I was there. There was this guy who made jewelry by taking actual coins and carving out the background, leaving just the design. This is a half penny from Ireland, now discontinued since they switched to the Euro. It's a Celtic bird and so delicate and unique and stunning! Now I carry a piece of Ireland with me everywhere I go. :D
So that was my lovely day at the Ren Faire! It rained a bit, but not enough to spoil the day, and my dress didn't even get very muddy! :D
It's 2:40 AM! Today has been woefully unproductive! I haven't seen Dollhouse OR Merlin, which are both supposed to be amazing! CLEARLY MY LIFE IS SAD.
