"I've been called worse things on the basketball court" - Obama!

Obama was AWESOME! \o/ I mean, hearing him speak was great but not that different from watching the DNC speech. However, being a part of that massive crowd that was so in tune with what he was saying? That was really something special. SO MANY PEOPLE SHOWED UP! The line started very early and grew to what I have to guess was between a mile and two ( Read more... )

(What are you taking again that is going to kill you? I cannot remember.)

(Advanced biochemistry! Good lord. PLUS analytical chemistry, PLUS PLUS my independent research project, which is mainly organic synthesis for now but will become a lot of spectral analysis.

I repeat: OH GOD.)

(... holy fucking shit, you are so incredibly insane. I kind of have to bow down to you now. [I am also dying, but it's my own fault for not studying at all over the summer.]

*hugs really tightly*)

*CLIIIINGS* It is not ME who is insane, but rather 1) the vagaries of scheduling which mean that the ONLY TWO chemistry classes I have left to complete my major are BOTH FALL CLASSES, and 2) the chemistry department for requiring TWELVE TO FIFTEEN HOURS IN THE LAB PER WEEK for my independent project. Also required for my major.

I WANT TO DIE. It doesn't help that I am in the process of falling very much out of love with chemistry and the practice thereof. Biochem and I are still good friends, but my independent just might kill me. I already hate it.

*pats* *a lot*

1) Wow, that's insane, and also really really lame. Who put that schedule together?

2) ... gahhhhhhhhh. Oh my god -- actually I was about to say "I can't imagine that" but then I realized that's my MQP next year! So, uh. :| I feel your pain?

PLEASE DON'T DIE. *clingsto* (Also if it helps I am slowly realizing, myself, that I really don't think being a chemist will work out for me in the long run either, uh. :D?) What are you doing your independent on?

1) It's mostly a result of what credits I happened to get in Ireland, leaving me with a 200 level and a 400 level course to complete. They just both happen to be in the fall.

Really? Is no one going to actually stick with science? It's important you know! Hee.

My independent is just an extension of my work for the last two summers, the probing DNA with nitriles and IR/NMR studies.
