BSG kinda OWNS ME at the moment :D

*flail* All I want to do is talk about Battlestar! I haven't stopped thinking about it all day. Of course this happens just as a MASSIVE hiatus starts *SIGH* Perhaps I'll rewatch S2 during the break, because I haven't yet, and I really loved parts of it.

First of all: KARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

*falls over*

I am still completely overwhelmed with joy. My Kara is ALIVE! She's BREATHING! It feels like I got my best friend back. (Only not really. You know what I mean.) I know everyone was saying "they're not done with Kara! She's coming back!" but I simply hadn't allowed myself to hope. It was easier to be angry and resentful and sad, but deal with my grief, instead of setting myself up for possibly disappointment and getting my hopes up. And I'm actually glad I didn't assume she was coming back, because that made the end of last night's episode a TRULY joyful experience for me. I was just so, so happy to see her beautiful smiling face. Oh, Kara. My spunky girl is back! Starbuck! With her smartass attitude, issues up the wazoo, truly fucked up relationships, and dazzling flying skills. I MISSED YOU KARAFACE! *clings to her*

And even MORE than that, my hope for Karalee is back in full force! I mean, Dee just left Lee, and Kara's husband is a frakking CYLON - you do the math! I have this gorgeous scenario in my head (uhm, completely unrealistic since they're in the middle of a battle with the cylons, but hush) of Lee and Kara landing their vipers on Galactica and Lee just collapsing onto Kara, squeezing her with all his might and trying his damndest not to cry but failing rather spectacularly. That is my current happy place! *drifts away*

And LEE. God. That SPEECH. He was so fucking spot on, and I hope that people listened to him (obviously his dad did!) because they need to do some serious revamping of their self-perceptions as a society. They're not just a normal civilization on the move - they're a ragtag band of random survivors stuck together in a dramatic life or death situation. The rules have CHANGED, drastically so. They can't afford to go tossing all their most important people in the brig for years, so they don't. By Lee's logic, which I believe 100%, it was proper for Gaius to be acquitted. I understand reactions like Roslin's, but at the same time... Lee has the right of it. And how he spoke just made me flap with love for him, cause god - so eloquent. He gave me chills. ♥! That's my boy! And he BETTER get his wings back, omg. Because PILOTS. He can't not be a pilot! He and Kara need to team up again!

Err, sorry. It always seems to come back to them for me ^_^

Random side note - how CUTE were Bill and Laura? When she called him to get her out of bed? ADORABLE!!! My friend Andrea and I were squealing loudly, while Brad laughed at us *g* I'm so sad that there's a wedge between them now because of Gaius - but what else can you expect on this show? *hands*

Then of COURSE there's the HUGE cylon reveal. I mean, obviously, that's gigantic. There are so many consequences and repercussions to be explored.

My first question is - how/when are they going to reveal this new truth to the rest of the fleet? Obviously Galen, Torri, Sam, and Tigh have no desire to go announcing to everyone else that they're cylons *hands* So are we going to have this little conspiracy between the four of them trying to figure out what to do with themselves? I'm fascinated to see how that plays out.

Then of course there's the consequences of specifically who is a cylon. Galen's son is a hybrid! Also, what does this say about Galen and original Boomer's relationship? Did they gravitate towards each other because fo their unconscious shared nature? And there's the big question of Tigh - Adama and Ellen have known him for decades, so... has he been replaced? Was he replaced on New Caprica?? How did the cylons manage to swap him out for a copy with all the same memories, unaware of his own nature? It gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Then there's Sam - Sam, who led the original resistance to the cylons back on Old Caprica, before Kara found him. Was he planted there to be in charge of and thus keep tabs on the surviving humans? Was the plan even more intricate than that - was he meant to end up on the Galactica? Most importantly, have the cylons finally realized that their boy cylons can be smoking hot too? *g* And then there's Torri, who we know almost nothing about, but are obviously going to find out more!

Then of course, who is the fifth cylon?? I'm theorizing right now that it's Admiral Cain, since the TV movie they're doing for the fall is going to be focused on the past of the Pegasus. Who knows!

God, it's all so FASCINATING. I don't WANT to wait, damn you Sci Fi! *shakes fist*

*flops with a happy sigh* The irony is that I didn't even really LIKE this episode too much. The pacing was kind of boring, and I didn't get REALLY excited until Lee went into his speech. It didn't really feel like a climactic finale... but what it did do is successfully poise us on the brink of an extremely exciting new direction for the entire show. So, in that sense it succeeded extremely well :)

In conclusion, KARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! *BEAMS*
