I have the flu. Both Marah and myself have been secreting mucous from nearly every orifice. Kule's Kultura section is a hotbed of germs and disease. But as Cage the Elephant said, 'there ain't no rest for the wicked, money don't grow on trees. I've got bills to pay, I've got mouths to feed. There ain't nothing in this world for free.' So work it is. And anyway, the show must go on.
A few awesome things I've stumbled upon--
1. 20th Century Boys
The film is 142 minutes of mind-boggling awesome. It's the first of a trilogy. Having finished the first film, I can safely say that I can not give a synopsis that will make sense. It's just... it's awesome.
It's got this nostalgia 80's-90's feel, a coming-of-age story, a sci-fi slant with the comic book artist thrown in jail for violating cultural censors, a crime drama, some cult mysticism, terrorism on a global scale, a rampaging robot, 9 friends out to save the world... and a cast of 300 people. You'd think it would suck because of too many things happening at the same time, but it doesn't. It's like a pizza with all the flavors in the world. In the end, it's still a pizza and it rocks hard.
Interestingly, it was Floyd who first mentioned the 20th Century Boys to me.
Friend is the mysterious cult leader with his face always hidden. Friend says the only way for humanity to save itself is emigration to Mars.
Alright, let's go to fucking Mars!

3. Carlo Gianferro took pictures of the inside of Gypsies' houses. It is both tacky and awesome at the same time.
