High time for a post
In writing, as with about anything else in life, I've learned that hesitation is key. So let's have some apolitical, distanced fun with random interesting links instead of passive voyeurism of my life.
1. Tony Daniel's blog get's to be link number one on account of how amazing it is. To the rest of you philistines, Daniel inks and writes for DC comics. He's slated to draw the stuff of legend for this March's BATTLE FOR THE COWL. He is also the man responsible for why the Joker suddenly became so damn frightening.
Side note-- the comic strip that appeared on the latest issue of The Philippine Collegian is made of solid gold. Too bad less than 1/4 of the UP population gets it. You've all been accidentally, subconsciously spoiled for Final Crisis #6.
2. 5 drinking stories that put yours to shame.
Once, on a drinking binge in Malabon, the liquor was flowing by 2:00 in the afternoon. By 11:30 that night, I was standing on the second floor balcony of the house we were drinking in. With a red bandana tied around my forehead and a black Philippine Military Academy t-shirt, I was shouting at the neighbors to come out of their houses and form two straight lines where I can see them. Was I enacting a scene from Evita? Playing fascist? Not sure. I remember going down and harassing an ice cream vendor though.
3. Zombie boy wants to be a zombie. The interview is full of lulz but the pics are pretty epic.
4. Great Con artists of the 20th century. I object to #1, that man is a visionary.
5. The Conspiracy Against Tobacco.
There have now been more than 50 studies, which collectively show that human papillomaviruses cause over ten times more lung cancers than the anti-smokers pretend are caused by secondhand smoke. Passive smokers are more likely to have been exposed to this virus than non-smoke-exposed non-smokers, so the anti-smokers are purposely using defective studies that are based on nothing but lifestyle questionnaires, in order to falsely blame passive smoking for all those extra lung cancers which are actually caused by HPV.
Wow, lolworthy.
Side note-- I am jogging again now. ^_^ My lungs can still handle a challenge.
7. 33 things to do before you turn 10. I'm 22 now and I've only done 16 of these. :( My childhood's kinda rotten.
2.5 stories to go before my thesis is done.
