decided not to go to class today and remembered that i haven't been on lj in a while. so here's an update.
CLASSES
i dropped the calculus course. here's my reasoning: i needed the calculus so that i could leave columbus for the summer to get an internship. but i have an internship. therefore, i do not need to leave columbus. therefore, i do not need to kill myself this quarter.
i think i'm going to take 20 hours this quarter (i don't plan on having the internship this summer). i'd like to take an accounting course to round out my resume a little more. also, i'm going to try to take business finance 722 - essentials of investment - in the fall. i haven't taken any of the prereqs, but a lot of my econ courses cover the same material, i've been managing a fantasy stock portfolio since july, and i work at an investment bank. i'm hoping that will lead into bus fin 724 - the stock market.
WORK
my responsibilities include: copying, binding, researching account information, filing, and shuffling papers between offices. and there's a lot of all of that to do. at first there wasn't that much, and i spent quite a bit of time wandering around looking like i was busy. but today i walked in an there was a stack of things waiting for me. they're getting used to having an intern, and they like it.
i think i'll do this for one more quarter. that's a 20-week internship, which should polish off my resume nicely. i don't want to do it during the summer because i think i might want to take an accounting course, which will help round out my resume.
FRATERNITY
we've got lots of pledges. i don't know most of them. i think i might be out of good standing right now, but i'm not sure. the way this quarter is going, i don't really have time for the fraternity, so i don't really care whether or not i'm in good standing.
HOUSING
i'm living with steiny, next door to max and aran, next door to frankel and kwait, and down the hall from haylee and carolyne. most people who would read this don't know who they are, but that's ok. the point is, the living situation turned out ok.
and that's my life right now.
