I am a girl I am a athlete I paint my nails I play softball I wear high heeled shoes before my game but when I get on the field it's as if my spikes were all I have ever worn I smile I laugh and im aggressive I live for the games when it's the last inning and im up to the plate and we are down by a run I have all the confidence in the world I love the pain the sweat I put into it just to get that stolen base before the other team throws the ball But most I love what I get back To learn to hold my head up high even in a loss To believe in my girls my teammates just as much as I believe in myself To know what I do is important but the team as a whole is always first To finally grasp the bigger picture To want the win To want it bad for yourself for your team But when I lose I know that I've just been made stronger because of it And I know that how much I've learned from my previous mistakes determines if I'm a real loser or winner not how many runs we had To know that I have people to support me to encourage me to get me up before I fall down that's what I love I love my teammates I love my coaches I love the color pink I love softball I am a girl I love to play I love what it gave me the memories I love what it continually gives me everyday a dependable happiness I am proud to represent my team To wear black and silver I am an athlete And I know I could never give the sport up I am a girl I wear mascara I play with my heart I am tough Softball is my sport
