Meme; Day 05
Day 05 - Your definition of love, in great detail
So, this one is tough because my last name is not Webster so coming up with definitions of things the easiest thing for me to do. I guess I define love as the way I feel toward others. In general. I love most people individually and also I love people as a group. There are obviously different kinds of love - romantic love, friend love, parental love, child love. I have never experienced romantic love, but a lot of people that I know that have will often let the person that they love treat them like crap at times because they love them. Of course, not everyone and not always is the crap treating there - but you let them get away with it because you know that having them in your life treating you like crap is better than not having them in your life. I think this is a bit silly, but since I haven't been there then I can't really say anything. Friend love is a lot the same except that I think with a friend you will sometimes put up with things you wouldn't in a partner, and vice versa. Parental and child love is unconditional and you put up with anything ... but hopefully you don't have to.
More than that crazy rambling up there I would say that to me love is the way you feel towards someone that makes you want to make them happy. I will go out of my way and I will make myself miserable just so that I can make those I love happy - and I am okay with that as long as it works. I am not sure I am making sense here because I am a bit scatter brained and emotional right now (moi? emotional? weird right?). I know that everyone is worthy of being loved. Love is different from a lot of other emotions because it doesn't have to be earned (although it can be in some cases). Also, I think that despite what the Beatles tell you, love is NOT all you need. You also need compatibility and a mutual regard for each other. Among other things.
