So, I left the office knowing that I would have to solve about 7 code issues this evening.
No, for those of you not familiar with coding... coding is the art of failing better. There is (almost) never a guarantee that things will go exactly as you expect. So, you write your code, hoping for the best, then you test it, then you see where you failed and rewrite and restest and so on. It's very similar to the scientific method.
There are of course cases that don't fit this pattern. But the problem ones are the ones that do fit this pattern, but don't look like it.
I entered into my list of seven items this evening knowing that any one of them could go for hours. Instead, 90 minutes later... I'm through all seven, they've tested successfully and I feel comfortable with them. This is a nice change.
