Normally, birthdays tend to be non-events for me, considering how they always tend to fall during the worst time of the academic year, wedged between a nasty, pressing deadline and some scary final exam.
Last year, I was in the US - deluged by hundreds of birthday greetings from all over the place, flowers from parents, birthday cake arranged by Ritwik, greeting cards from friends and so much more - and yet, feeling a bit miserable because I wanted to be with my loved ones. I drowned my sorrow in a wild night of partying, of course.
The year before that, it was a nasty case of PMS and RealAcad (only some of those who read this would get why this was nasty for me). Don't even ask.
And so on and so forth.
But my birthday this year (last Saturday, April 7th) was special. Thanks to a fantastic boyfriend who loves spoiling his girlfriend silly ;) A surprise birthday party with friends, a brilliant Brazilian dinner at
Brazil Churrascaria, a fabulous birthday gift of very good seats for the
Phantom of the Opera at
Esplanade later this month, the whole works * grin *
Thanks, Ritwik, for the wonderful celebrations. And thanks a lot to all those who came to the party, especially those who came amidst their deadlines of FYP, term papers, assignments and so on. Thank you, Kundi & Divya, loved the gifts :)
And I wish myself a superb year ahead, of lots of travel, learning and interesting experiences. Cheers to that * clink *
