I took Michelle to see American Idiot at the Hanover in Worcester last weekend for her birthday. AND WAS TRANSFORMED. I remember listening to that album when it first came out. In Sean Kelley's truck actually. I bought it, loved it, played it constantly. And then, as something go, I stopped listening to it and moved on to something else. I knew that there was a musical based on the music and Michelle burned me the OST a few months ago. My love for the album was rekindled. Listening to new voices singing favorite songs, some new songs that quickly became favorites, and rocking out to She's A Rebel like I was 20 again. I had to see the show. So I bought us tickets and we went.
I can't really describe how amazing it was. The dancing at first was kind of silly but as the show progressed I got into it. I couldn't figure out where I wanted to look, there was just so much going on. So after we left the show and went to dinner and sang in the car to the soundtrack and talked about the show the rest of the night I asked Paul if he would buy tickets to the show in Providence the following weekend. He did. Because he is the best.
This weekend of course was the Bizzard of 2013 or Snowmageddon or Bizzacane or whatever other ridiculous thing they're calling it. It eclipsed the blizzard of 78 so I guess it does deserve a Name. Anyways, we got about 26 inches or so, more in some places, and could only open our front door 6 or 7 inches. The Providence Performing Arts Center cancelled a few shows and rescheduled them so we ended up going to Providence today instead of yesterday.
The show was just as good a second time, though this time I didn't cry. I still have a strong desire to be Whatsername because she rocks. Paul liked it, but he isn't really into that stuff as much as me (that stuff being theater, musicals, and also Green Day) but he did enjoy it enough to chat about it a bit as we were leaving the theater.
We went to cilantros because it is Paul's favorite place to get burritos and we almost always go there when we are in Providence.
Also, I started writing my book. Did I talk about this already? If so, sorry. But last month I started to really get into writing down my novel, and have kept up with it quite a bit. I probably have a few dozen pages written but not complete, characters are very well developed, and I have created mythology in the world to explain why things are the way they are. So I am pretty happy with that, and will probably post what I have written on my other LJ just in case my computer crashes ever. Obviously I will make those private though, I am not ready for anyone to read that stuff yet, it's too new.
I am listening to some old revival tour stuff, and Paul is watching the Bruins game. Tomorrow I am taking my mom to IKEA because she has never been before and she wants to get some stuff for her new place.
Apparently her and Jim got into another fight today, she called me crying yesterday because of some dick thing he said to her. I can't wait for her to be gone from there. It is such a bad environment for her.
Second semester is going pretty well. I'm a week ahead in both my classes, though this week we had a ton due and I scrambled a bit to complete it all. I hope that's not any indication as to how the rest of the semester is going to go. I wrote a small essay on Joss Whedon's personality and how it follows the basis of the Humanist Theory. Kind of interested to see if the teacher knows who Joss is. :)
